Your Journey With Us Starts Here

A Step-by-Step Guide to Your First Visit

  • For Adults

During your first appointment, your practitioner will gather important information about your history. They will discuss the proposed treatment plan, including how many sessions you might need before the first review.

If your appointment was referred by a GP or specialist, the practitioner will also talk about providing feedback to them.

  • For Children

If the appointment is for a child, only the parent(s) should attend the first session unless told otherwise. This session will follow a similar process as for adults.

Typically, the child will come in for the second session for assessment, and in the third session, the practitioner will meet with the parent(s) again to discuss the issues and treatment plan.

Useful Information: Your First Visit

  • At Lakeside Rooms, practitioners customise their treatment to fit your needs. There are no rules about how long treatment will last; it depends on your specific situation.

After your initial assessment, your practitioner will provide an estimate of the treatment length and will review this with you regularly as you progress.

  • Please bring any relevant documents, such as a doctor’s referral or previous reports and assessments. If the appointment is for a child, include any school reports or letters from doctors or other therapists that might be helpful.
