Important Updates

Dear valued Clients & families,

We understand this is another difficult time for all of the community and wanted to let you know what action Lakeside Rooms is taking to continue to offer services and maintain safety for all.

Masks Still Required to Be Worn in Rooms

As an allied health practice Lakeside Rooms is deemed to be a “Healthcare setting – meaning a public or private health facility where healthcare is primarily accessed via face-to-face services provided to residents, patients, clients and others.”, under the Queensland Health Mask Mandate 4/3/2022; https://www.health.qld.gov.au/system-governance/legislation/cho-public-health-directions-under-expanded-public-health-act-powers/public-health-face-mask-requirements-direction, We are therefore require to have clients wear a mask in rooms.

Lakeside Rooms is no longer able to provide masks for clients and visitors and request that clients bring their own to each appointment. As a helpful reminder we have added this into your courtesy reminder SMS for appointments.

Car Park Availability – July 2022

We write to advise you of upcoming changes to parking availability at Lakehouse Corporate Space, where Lakeside Professional Rooms are located. We have been advised that building works for the new Accommodation near Building 3 & 4, will commence in approximately 4 weeks. This will result in removal of a number of carparks at the front of the lake near the construction area (shown by the blue dot on the map below), thus reducing available parking for clients and tenants at Lakehouse Corporate Space. To assist you in finding carparking when visiting our rooms, we provide the following suggestions;

  1. Plan to arrive 10 minutes earlier to your appointment, to allow time to find suitable parking, including having to walk further;
  2. The designated Visitor and Disabled carparks near Building 3 will remain in place;
  3. There are a large number of non-reserved carparks you can use in the top of the rear carpark, on the left as you come down the hill into Lakehouse Corporate Space;
  4. You can park up on the street on Glenferrie Drive, outside of Lakehouse Corporate Space;
  5. Parking may also be available across the other side of the Lake, and there are walking paths around the lake across to Lakehouse Corporate Space;
  6. Please don’t park where there is designated signage indicating the park belongs to a Business or Individual.  You risk being fined or possibly towed, and these fines/fees will be at the driver’s expense.

Appointment Reminders – 72 hours before appointment

Lakeside Rooms now send an appointment reminder 72 hours (3 business days) before your scheduled appointment.  We remind our clients that we require a response by SMS or phone to confirm your appointment on receipt of this SMS.

The demand for mental health services remains high and providing us 72 hours’ notice of a cancellation allows the appointment to be offered to other clients who are on our cancellation lists and in need of an appointment.

We thank you in advance for your understanding and cooperation as we navigate through this difficult time together.
Kind Regards
Lakeside Rooms Team

Waiting times for an appointment: Increasingly, people in our community are seeking access to mental health services. Most practitioners have waiting lists for new patients, and this unfortunately means that, depending on the practitioner to whom a new patient is referred or with whom they prefer to consult, new patients may wait up to 16 weeks to receive their first appointment.

A practitioner may offer to place you on their appointment waiting list and have reception staff contact you when appointments become available. If the wait for an appointment is too long, we recommend you contact your GP to discuss the matter and seek appropriate advice. You may also wish to refer to our resource page for more information and possible options.
