Important Updates

Dear valued Clients and families,

We understand this is another difficult time for all of the community and wanted to let you know what action Lakeside Rooms is taking to continue to offer services and maintain safety for all.

Mitigating Exposure to COVID-19

  1. We ask that you wear your mask at all times whilst in rooms (unless a Medical Exemption is held or are a child is under 12 years of age).

Limiting Reception Contact:

For the safety of all we are minimising the amount of time clients need to be in the waiting/reception area and line-ups at the counter so are asking clients to only approach reception counter if there are no other clients already at the counter.

1. Payment;

An efficient option to pay for your session is to complete the credit card payment form when you are with your practitioner or call us after your appointment to make payment over the phone. These forms will be destroyed immediately after payment is processed and are for single use only.

2. Making Appointments;

If you wish to schedule/reschedule appointments, if there is already someone at the reception counter please call us to do this.

New Consent Forms:

As indicated in our previous news-mail, all clients at their next appointment will be asked to sign an updated consent form confirming they acknowledge and accept the risk of potential exposure to the virus, by returning to in-person services in a shared office environment at Lakeside Rooms.

Covid Exposure & Subsequent Quarantine:

Should one of our Practitioners have to quarantine due to exposure, service delivery can continue to be offered via Telehealth, if clinically appropriate.  This decision is at the discretion and based on the clinical judgment of each individual Practitioner. If this impacts any of your scheduled appointments you will be advised of this prior to your appointment.

If you need to quarantine and cannot attend your appointment in-person, please inform Reception as soon as possible so your Practitioner can be informed and alternative options such as Telehealth may be considered if clinically appropriate.

The current QLD health directives for Testing and Quarantining are:

Cleaning Post Exposure:

We have again increased our cleaning protocols to ensure the safety of our clients, practitioners and staff in line with the current Queensland Health Department guidelines.

If we should have a COVID exposure at the Lakeside Rooms;

Safe Work Australia cleaning protocols will be followed.

We note that all of the above information is being updated regularly and we are adjusting our protocols accordingly and will keep you informed of significant changes to service.

We thank you in advance for your understanding and cooperation as we navigate through this difficult time together.

Kind Regards

Lakeside Rooms Team

Waiting times for an appointment: Increasingly, people in our community are seeking access to mental health services. Most practitioners have waiting lists for new patients, and this unfortunately means that, depending on the practitioner to whom a new patient is referred or with whom they prefer to consult, new patients may wait up to 16 weeks to receive their first appointment.

A practitioner may offer to place you on their appointment waiting list and have reception staff contact you when appointments become available. If the wait for an appointment is too long, we recommend you contact your GP to discuss the matter and seek appropriate advice. You may also wish to refer to our resource page for more information and possible options.
