Celebrating 40 Years in Practice

Terri is a highly respected Clinical Psychologist and Founding Director of Lakeside Rooms in Robina. She is proudly celebrating her 40th year in practice in 2025. Since beginning her career in 1985, Terri has dedicated four decades to supporting children, adolescents, adults, and families across a broad range of developmental and mental health needs.

Terri has extensive experience across both public and private sectors, including roles at the Barrett Adolescent Centre, Disability Queensland’s Early Intervention Services, Community Child and Youth Mental Health Services, and private practices in Brisbane and on the Gold Coast. Terri brings deep clinical knowledge and compassionate insight to her work with her clients. 

Terri currently focuses on psychological assessment and treatment across the lifespan, working with children, teens, and adults. She is known for her ability to connect meaningfully with clients and collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, allied health professionals, and community networks.

Terri’s enduring commitment to mental health care, combined with her leadership at Lakeside Rooms, reflects a lifelong passion for creating safe, supportive spaces where individuals can heal, grow, and thrive.

Explore Terri’s Clinical Research, EFT Training, and Supervision Expertise

Terri is a highly experienced psychologist and co-founder of Lakeside Rooms, with over 40 years of practice in the field of clinical psychology. She has been actively involved in leading-edge research, clinical training, and supervision throughout her career. Terri also served as an Adjunct Senior Teaching Fellow in the School of Psychology, Faculty of Society & Design at Bond University, where she contributed to academic research and the development of future clinicians. 

Terri has worked extensively with Dr. Peta Stapleton, Professor at Bond University and internationally recognised researcher in Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT). Together, they have collaborated on a range of groundbreaking research studies, including:

- A world-first randomised clinical trial on EFT for reducing food cravings in overweight and obese adults.

- Comparative trials of EFT vs. Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) for emotional eating in adolescents and depression in adults. 

In addition to her research work, Terri delivers EFT training sessions and workshops for mental health professionals, empowering clinicians with practical, evidence-based techniques. She brings years of experience providing clinical supervision to provisional psychologists, psychology registrars, and early-career and senior practitioners, offering guidance grounded in compassion, expertise, and a deep understanding of the therapeutic process.
